Obama's State of the Union Speech

In the State of the Union Speech last night, the president talked a lot about tax cuts and new jobs. He believes that tax cuts would only jeopardize our military readiness and make our medicare plans "even worse". His stance on new jobs remains the same and he continues to operate under the illusion that things are getting better. He alludes to the truth on one or two occasions but for the most part he sticks to his guns.

Northeast Hit With Massive Snow-Storm

Most of the northeast is buried under an average height of three feet of snow. About 650,000 homes and buildings were left without electricity and could be in the dark for several more days. However, people are getting their winter workout by getting out and exercising in this cold winter, shoveling the endless amounts of snow.

Space Explosion Found In Tree Rings?

Japanese scientists have recently discovered an excess of carbon-14 and beryllium-10 in the rings of several trees in a Japanese cedar forest. These are very rare forms of these elements and are usually caused by an explosion in space. The scientists speculate that there may have been an explosion around the years 774-775 A.D. and the remaining particles were trapped in the rings of these trees.

Ten Stupid Things Smart Christians Believe

Joel Grus recently published a book titled "Ten Stupid Things Smart Christians Believe" which is basically a blatant attack on Christianity. He listed his ten points that are "explained" in the book, on his website.

His second point:

2. There’s an invisible man in the sky who likes to watch you while you’re showering.

First of all, God is not an invisible man. He makes himself known very clearly through miraculous works and through a certain extremely popular book called "The Bible." Secondly, He doesn't "like to watch you" like some spectral pervert, he watches you so he can take care of you and because he does care about you. The other nine points are just as poorly thought out and insulting. Joel is obviously having some problems with his conscious and takes his frustration out on those who's thoughts are more put together than his.

Voting Conspiracies?

There was some confusion recently for those who took time to go and vote for the presidential election early. Several machines in Guilford County, NC seemed to be malfunctioning and changing votes for the Republican party Mitt Romney, to votes for the Democratic hopeful re-elect Barack Obama.
